EDUCATION
LAKEHEAD UNIVERSITY 2011 - 2015
Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology
The HBK program at Lakehead University laid the ground work for my theoretical knowledge in the exercise science realm. I was introduced to varying topics ranging from nutrition to anatomy to sports psychology. This program allowed me to sharpen my skills in collaboration, oral communication and research.
In my 4th year, I completed a thesis looking at the effects of manual dexterity exercises for individuals with Parkinson's.
NIAGARA COLLEGE 2016-2017
Graduate Diploma in Exercise Science in Performance and Health
This ESHP program at Niagara was an amazing place for learning practical skills. It built on the theoretical knowledge acquired from University and applied it to realistic situations found in the workplace. There was a heavy focus on chronic and athletic populations, centering around physical assessments, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription.
Two placement opportunities were required for graduation. The curriculum was also focused around material needed to take on the CSEP-CEP certification.
